First Brew

I thought long and hard on what my first post would be about.  What beer would I blog/write about?  Would I blast the big American beers (Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors) for lulling the people into "American Lager boredom" robbing the people of taste and passion for beer?  Maybe I would sing the praises of a relativity unknown microbrew?  Or a European beer that gets overlooked for being European?  Questions abound.  And then I thought... lets backup and just breathe... maybe I should start from the beginning and not get too far ahead of myself.  So if I were to do this right I would need a mission statement of sorts so others would understand why I am doing what I am doing.  Also it would help to keep my integrity.  So without wasting anymore of your time here is my mission statement.

To promote an appreciation and understanding for a verity of beer available to the consumer population, And to encourage that population to try to help expand out beer IQ as a whole so we may make better beer decisions.

Well there it is, and what a statement it is.  Just to be clear.  I want everyone to know it is not a bad thing to have a favorite beer.  I have a favorite beer myself an old standby that I can order at anytime so I know I will have a pleasurable experience.  However my sincere want is that you are not afraid to try a new beer, a different beer, and maybe, just maybe a new favorite beer.

So let’s sit back and see what we have... Awesome blog title?... check.  Mission statement?... check.  Epic sign off statement??? Well... I have to save something for next week now don't I.
